Property crimes detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the man who committed an armed robbery inside the Dollar General Store located at 13428 S. Henderson Road in Caruthers.  He is described as being white, 5’7”, 185 lbs.

On Saturday, March 11th, the suspect entered the store at about 9:50 pm.  Around 10:00 pm, two store employees finished helping their final customers and locked the doors to prepare to close the store for the night.  The employees did not know that the suspect remained inside the store, hiding in the back storage room.  Once the employees began to sweep the floor and close out the register, the suspect emerged out the back room and onto the sales floor.  He hid behind some shelves and waited for the employee with the dust mop to come around the corner.  As she did, he caught her by surprise and pointed a gun at her.  He walked her to the front of the store at gunpoint and ordered her and the other employee to fill a bag with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and safe.  The suspect made one of the women place the bag of money outside the front door, which allowed him pick it up and escape.

Neither of the employees were injured.  The suspect wore a two-tone black and gray jacket with blue jeans.  He placed the hood over his head and covered his face so the employees and surviellance cameras were not able to get a clear look at him.
