The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office today announced the arrest of a Fresno man after assaulting another man with a pitchfork and a metal pipe. Arrested was 50 year old Kenneth Ray Gibson.
Last night, shortly after 8:30 pm, deputies responded to the assault call at a residence located in the 5000 block of W Cortland Ave.
Deputies learned the victim and his wife had just returned home from dinner and saw their dog being attacked by several other dogs, one of which belonged to Gibson.
The victim contacted Gibson, who lives in a tent behind the victim’s property, in an effort to get him to do something with his dog. The two then started arguing during which time Gibson struck the victim several times in the head and arms with a metal pipe. Gibson then dropped the pipe and assaulted the victim with a pitchfork.
Although injured, the victim was able to get away from Gibson and back to his residence.
The victim sustained a puncture wound to his face, and severe swelling to his arms and hands. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Gibson was arrested at the scene for assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and an outstanding warrant. He was later booked into the Fresno County Jail.
