Residents Abandon Marijuana Grow

Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives are currently eradicating an outdoor marijuana grow at a residence located in the 4500 block of N Zediker Ave, east of Clovis.

Shortly before 3:00pm this afternoon, detectives served a search warrant at the residence as part of an ongoing investigation in to illegal marijuana grows in Fresno County.

Detectives discovered a hothouse behind the residence several marijuana plants ready for harvest.  They also discovered several more plants in the attached garage which had been turned in to two separate grow areas.  The final plant count came to just under 300 plants.

No one was home during the service of today’s warrant. Neighbors reported they hadn’t seen the residents for several days… since Eagle One orbited the residence and discovered the site.

This residence was the site of large marijuana grow last year.  During that investigation, detectives eradicated over one thousand plants.

The investigation is ongoing and arrests may come at a later date.  Anyone with information on this, or any other marijuana investigation is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 600-3111, or CrimeStoppers at 498-STOP(7867). Persons may also report illegal drug activity via the Sheriff’s Office website, www.fresnosheriff.org.

The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that state and federal laws, along with county ordinances, prohibits the cultivation of marijuana in Fresno County and will be aggressively enforced.
