A wanted Reedley man was arrested on several felony warrants after being stopped by deputies, and after an earlier pursuit in Selma. Arrested was 24 year old Steven Rene Silva.
Last night, shortly before 11:30pm, deputies initiated a vehicle stop on a gray colored Dodge Stratus in the 500 block of August St in the City of Reedley. The vehicle had earlier been involved in a high speed pursuit with Selma PD officers, and it was reported the occupants were possible armed with a gun.
During the high risk stop, Silva, who had been driving the vehicle, was immediately taken into custody on several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Inside the vehicle, deputies discovered narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia, burglary tools, and property stolen from an earlier burglary.
Silva was later booked into the Fresno County Jail on eight felony warrants for charges of burglary, forgery, vehicle theft, felony evading, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics, and brandishing a firearm. As a result of the vehicle stop, Silva was also charged with burglary, felony evading, vehicle theft, and narcotics possession.
Another subject in the vehicle, 33 year old Christina Gonzales of Parlier, was arrested on charges of possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property.
A third subject in the vehicle was interviewed and eventually released.
