Fresno County Sheriff's search and rescue crews are currently looking for a hiker who was reported missing last night. The hiker is 21-year-old Nick Brehm.
Yesterday, Brehm had reportedly gone hiking with his two brothers in the area of Redinger Lake. At about 6:30pm, Brehm left his brothers and started hiking on his own. When he failed to return, family members reported him missing.
Brehm is described as a 21-year-old white male,'5 11" with a thin build and blond hair. He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt and black shorts. He is carrying a black backpack and four person tent. He has water but no food.
Approximately 20 mountaineers are involved in the search. The search area is approximately one square mile. However, the terrain is extremely rough and steep, ranging in elevation from 1500' to 2500'.
The search lasted until after 3 a.m. this morning before it was suspended. Some of the searchers had to spend the night in the search area as they could not be easily extracted. The search resumed this morning at 6:00am with the assistance of Eagle One.
