Man Arrested After Being Thrown Out Of House Where He Attempted To Hide From Deputies

P. Bandaphone

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office today announced the arrest of a Fresno man after he attempted to steal an already reported stolen car. Arrested was 29-year-old Peter Anusith Bandaphone.

The incident began early yesterday morning, shortly before 4:30 a.m., when deputies responded to a vehicle theft in progress call in Malaga.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they observed Bandaphone inside the passenger seat of a green Honda Civic parked near the intersection of Olney & Harding. Bandaphone immediately fled on foot.

Deputies gave chase and watched as Bandaphone ran into a nearby residence on Harding. Deputies set up a perimeter around the residence and made repeated announcements for Bandaphone to come out.

After several announcements, the front door opened and the homeowner shoved Bandaphone outside before shutting the door again. Bandaphone was taken into custody without further incident.

The investigation revealed that Bandaphone apparently knew the residents of the home, but had no permission to enter it.

A check of the Honda found it to be a reported stolen out of the City of Fresno.

Bandaphone, an AB-109 parolee, was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges of vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.
